EXPERIENCE:

I spent ten years teaching sixth, seventh, and eighth grades in the areas of Math, Science, and Algebra 1. I was the recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award at Welborn Middle School in 2002-2003. The 2021-2022 school year will be my tenth year in the Randolph County School System and my first year at Trinity Middle School. I spent the last eight years teaching at Archdale-Trinity Middle School. During the 2019-2020 school year, I was the recipient of the Distinguished Educator Award at ATMS.

BIOGRAPHY:

I am currently teaching eighth grade Math, Math 1, and Social Studies at TMS as a part of the Legends of Tomorrow Team, along with Mr. Bentley (Science and Social Studies) and Mrs. Smith (English/Language Arts and Social Studies). I have been married for 23 years and have three beautiful children. I love to spend time at the beach and am an AVID DUKE basketball fan...GO BLUE DEVILS!!

It takes a special person to love and to teach in a middle school environment. The middle school age is one of new beginnings, leaving childhood, and entering pre-adulthood. As a teacher, I am here to prepare these kids not only for high school, but for their future careers. I am also here to be an example and guide them to make good choices to be good citizens both in and out of the classroom.
