88092 - Special Education - Adapted Curriculum (K-12)
EDUCATION:
I graduated from UNCG in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Community and Therapeutic Recreation with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation. I am currently a teacher in residency through WCU and will graduate with my teaching certificate in Special Education Adapted Curriculum in Spring 2022.
EXPERIENCE:
Throughout my college career I worked in various settings including: Camp Joy (a summer camp for those with disabilities) through mainstream resources, Horsepower Therapeutic Learning Center (equine therapy), etc. After college, I became a Licensed Recreation Therapist and Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist and started working in the medical field with the geriatric community but my passion was always working with children with disabilities. I was given the opportunity to work at Trindale Elementary in Spring 2020 as the EC Functional Skills teacher and fell in love with it! I am so excited to be joining TMS this year!
